The best jewelry insurance is maintenance!

Jewelry needs to be maintained like anything else. Over time metals can wear out or get damaged and stones will fall out, especially if worn daily. For example: if you have a ring with multiple small diamonds, those diamonds are held in with very small pieces of metal which can wear out rather quickly because their is not much metal to hold the diamonds in.

Some household chemicals are very bad for metals too. Chlorine products will do permanent damage to metals. So, before cleaning with chlorine or getting into a hot tub or swimming pool with chlorine products make sure you remove your jewelry.

It's best to have your jewelry inspected by a professional at least every 6 months. Cole's Jewelers provides jewelry inspection free of charge and we'll even clean it free too!
